When you join Homeshift, we take your first payment on your supply start date; this is the date your account goes live with us.
You will receive your first Homeshift bill approximately 4 weeks after your supply start date.
This may mean that when you switch, you may find yourself making two energy payments in your first month (this is common across the industry):
- one payment for the energy you used with your old supplier
- one payment in advance for the energy you’ll use in the coming month with us.
Please don’t worry, you're not paying for your energy twice. As part of the switching process, we as your new supplier will provide your old supplier your opening meter readings. This is so your account is opened and closed to same meter readings.
Your old supplier will issue your final bill within 6 weeks of your account leaving them, if your final bill has a credit balance, this will be returned to
If your old supplier is still taking payments and it’s been longer than 6 weeks, and there isn't a balance owed; we’d suggest getting in touch with them. You can also cancel your Direct Debit if you think you’re being incorrectly billed.
