Why have I received a bill from another supplier?

We commonly get asked why a customer has received a bill from another supplier. 

You may be aware, that switching supplier takes 18-21 days. At Homeshift we take payments on  your supply start date (this is the day your account officially goes live with us), whereas some suppliers take payment at the end of the billing period. 

So when you switch, you may find yourself making two energy payments in your first month:

  • one payment for the energy you used with your old supplier
  • one payment in advance for the energy you’ll use in the coming month with Homeshift.

You'll also receive a final bill from your old supplier within 6 weeks of leaving them. Don't worry, you won't be paying for your energy twice.

If you have paid your final bill with your old supplier and they are still taking payments, we’d suggest getting in touch with them.
