Why has a payment been taken on the day my account went live?

At Homeshift we take payments on  your supply start date (this is the day your account officially goes live with us). We do so to make sure your account opens in credit.

This payment acts as a bit of a cushion so that if you're using more energy than we expect, your account won't fall into debt early on, and it helps to keep your monthly direct debit stable.
